With over 18 years of dedicated experience in education, Bonyin King is a passionate educator currently teaching at the International Spanish Language Academy. Throughout the majority of her distinguished career, she has specialized in the foundational Primary Years, specifically in Kindergarten and First Grade. Looking ahead to the next academic year, she is excited to embrace a new challenge, having been invited to bring her expertise to a 3rd-grade classroom.
Bonyin's journey into mindfulness began as a direct response to the unique challenges of the post-COVID-19 educational landscape. Observing a significant rise in anxiety and a decline in social connection skills among her students, she recognized that these emotional hurdles were deeply impacting their academic success. In her search for solutions, she realized that to effectively support her students, she first needed to find her own center. By integrating grounding and centering practices into her daily life, she discovered the transformative power of mindfulness.
Today, Bonyin is committed to developing innovative classroom practices that foster emotional resilience. From "Dragon Breathing" to sensory-based "Let’s Smell" techniques, she empowers her students to take agency over their well-being, ensuring they are present, grounded, and ready to thrive.
